I mentioned in an earlier post that I was upgrading some critical system over the weekend. Once I had the PSC Issue resolved I moved onto vCenter only to be greeted with this initial error.
Please ensure extensions are compatible with the new vCenter Server and re-register extensions with the new vCenter Server after upgrade. Please refer to the vSphere documentation on extensions, and the upgrade and interoperability guides.Error: User Running the upgrade does not have ‘Replace a process level token Privilege.’ Resolution: Assign a process level token privilege to the user
The fix we pretty straight forward and was as exactly described as in the Error message – Which was strange.
Assign the user doing the upgrade Replace a process level token Privileges. Start by running gpedit.msc and navigating to the location shown below.
The rest of the upgrade went off without an Issue thankfully.
It worked. Thx.
Correct: gpedit.psc -> gpedit.msc
